University cafeteria
Last week, Hiroshima university cafeteria did Chugoku and Shikoku region fair. The content was local cuisine from the Chugoku and Shikoku region is served at the cafeteria that week. The cuisines were delicious and I was satisfied. However, there was a bad point. That was the my hometown's cuisine. That was yogurt! Exactly, the maker of the yogurt was in the my hometown ,Shimane. Do you think yogurt is local cuisine? I do not think so. All of other prefecture's local cuisines are main dish or like that. However, Shimane's dish was only dessert.
Of course, this does not mean there are no local foods in Shimane. In Shimane, there are are many delicious foods such as "Izumo soba buckwheat", "Nodoguro", which is fish and "Agonoyaki", which is fish paste. All foods are delicious so why don't you go Shimane and eat them?
